Well the board has just started and I already know that 2/3 of you don't know each other

So I guess it's time to start a good old fashioned introduction thread! I'll start it off, and of course, you don't need to reply here if you don't want to. I know that not everyone likes attention, so you just do you! And of course, you don't need to give you real name if you don't want to. Old school rules of anonymity apply here.

My name's Carl (They/Them). I'm from Ohio and am a musician. I love listening and making music. I also love all sorts of genre entertainment from comic books to anime to historical documentaries. I've had a lot of cool jobs over the years, so I have a pretty unique skill set. One of my favorite jobs ever was as a projectionist at the Gateway Film Center in Columbus, Ohio. I actually got to thread and run 70mm which is pretty rare these days.

I play games primarily on the PC and am super excited about the new Virtua Fighter. Recently I've really been enjoying Marvel Rivals and an indie game call Ballionare. It's like Balatro meets Pachinko? It's a lot of fun.

I'm also really excited to start watching the new Creature Commandos show on Max. I love that James Gunn is making DC's animated stuff part of the film universe. I hope shit gets really weird

For those I haven’t met, hi! I’m Sae! (They/he) I’m a CO based comic creator with a heavy interest in D&D. I love animation, pastries, and 19th century medical history. My day job for the time being is prepping geotech samples for lab testing (I crush rocks and play in the dirt).

My favorite games are Undertale and Breath of the Wild. I love analyzing fiction so if anyone’s that style of nerd, we’ll get along just fine. Can’t wait to meet everyone!

I was! And I do! Where I worked as really cool. We were a non-profit that was right off the campus of OSU. We would play all sorts of great non-mainstream and retro stuff. All sorts of documentaries, foreign films, indie releases. We would get all the Neon and A24 type of stuff.

One of my favorite things we used to do was a 24 hour Groundhog's Day marathon. People would bring pillows and blankets, and then spend a full 24 hours in the cinema watching the movie. Every 2 hours there was a break and we would punch everyone's lanyard to prove they were awake and present for the whole thing, then you would get a t-shirt. It was crazy. They developed rules and callbacks like it was Rocky Horror. It was so much fun.

I didn't know you were living in Colorado. I'm wanting to move out of Ohio in the next 3-5 years and Colorado is on my list of potential places. I might have to talk to you about living there. I feel like you might be pretty well suited to answer some of my questions.

Hello, I’m Gabe, I go by they/them. I’m 32, I live in New Jersey, and I’m currently in between jobs. I love video games, and TTRPGs, and reading books. I like to roleplay and out all my blorbos into the blender to see what comes out. My main interests are game design, narrative analysis, and sex/sexuality. I’m horny and not ashamed. But yes I’d love to talk to you about how sex is an underused and badly represented storytelling facet, and how it can be both casual and meaningful at the same time.

I'm Dannie, tell everyone I'm 28 and a big ol lesbo. I'm from Ohio but live in Vegas now with my wife. We hate it here and there are too many people. Big into videogames and the Simpsons. Got my first game system at 4 and wanted to make it my life so now I work at a mobile gaming company. Little me would be so excited. I also like to 3D print things so that is my new obsession.
