Message Board Roadmap and Known Issues (Make feature requests here)

This is just a post where I'm going to keep track of the features and stuff that are planned/hoped for. If there's a timeline or best guess on date of completion, I'll note it. Otherwise it will just be "whenever me or someone else can get around to it."

Current wishlist:

• YouTube embedded videos
• Update user profiles to modernize social media
• add optional pronouns
• Add more styles so users can have a wide variety of cosmetic choices.
• More/customizable Titles
• Leveling system for post count

Known Issues:

• Can't add avatars or signatures: Status - Fixed. Avatars and signatures have been activated. Max sizes have been increased.
• Post count not visible: Status - Resolved. Post counts are only visible on desktop or devices above a certain resolution, so they will be hidden on phones and smaller tablets.

Just a little update on some things I've upgraded and added since the board was launched this past weekend.

I think the biggest one as far as functionality is the upgraded editor. It's a word processor style editor on top now with a bunch of functionality without having to know the BB code off the top of your head. This was paired up with a media upgrade, so now whenever you post direct links to major media sites like YouTube, it should automatically embed the video directly inline. tag. So if your content isn't automatically embedding, perhaps trying nesting it in a media tag and it might fix the issue.

I've also added optional pronouns for profiles. The pronouns will display under your name and avatar on posts when the field is populated. If pronouns are left blank, nothing is displayed.

I'm also working on a ranking system and added the functionality to display it along with any special ranks admins or mods manually assign.

That's all for now. I feel like this board is mostly functional now and the most important features are in place. The last thing I need to do is get the email functionality working, then the board can send system messages and we can require email verification for new members.

This week I'll also try to work up a basic code of conduct, but I don't think we need too many rules to start off.
