Welcome! (A little about this board)

Hey everyone! Welcome to the Cosmic Butt Stuff Board, or CBSB for short.

The other day I was fed up with Twitter and social media in general. Social media is an open space where just anyone, regardless of their interest or knowledge of a topic, can just aimlessly wander into a discussion. It made me long for the days that I would spend hours on specialty message boards talking about things with other people who share my interests.

What this is supposed to be?
A place you can talk about the stuff you love with people who are as passionate as you, but with a more moderated and community based experience.

Who can join?
Anyone! Invite your friends. I plan to eventually make it required to login to fully access all forums. This will be done in hopes to limit content scraping for data used in advertising and AI generation. If things get too big, we might limit it to invite only, but that's not something I'm considering right now.

What can we post?
No official rules yet, but for now just don't post anything illegal or too provocative. NSFW content will be permitted within any space designated as such. For now I am letting people post whatever they want without file size limits beyond a 500mb site-wide data cap. This is just temporary and can be easily changed if needed. Let me know if you have feedback or issues.

Forum Structure
For now I'm leaving the forums pretty open and vague. If a single topic within that forum becomes popular enough, I'll spin up a sub-forum specifically for the topic. For example, if everyone REALLY wants to talk about Marvel stuff, I will make a Marvel specific sub-forum within the Franchises forum. If you want to suggest a new broad topic forum, see the point below.

I was just talking to my mom about the old forums and IRC for G4! I loved it so much. I actually made friends with a couple of the assistant-producers through chat and twitter. For a lot of the episodes of Attack of the Show they would have viewer questions ready for the hosts in case the show went short on time. I got chosen for it like 5 times, but I always got bumped for time

I had to get my webcam ready and everything... it was such a pain.

Actually, I might see if I can reach out to one of them and see if they would like to join this board. He was super cool and might enjoy this.

Post count should be there? Which style is showing up for you? Is it obnoxiously 90s rainbow and shit?

As far as the other stuff, I can work on that stuff. I'll add it to the wishlist.
